Yolanda makes me cool down | Oct 21, 2008 |
I would like the snow landscape on my desktop for the summer. Now it is windy and raining.
But Ariffo: your picture is heartbreaking!
How can you stand watching this sad scene for longer than 1 second?!
Jungfraujoch, Switzerland | Oct 21, 2008 |
I took this picture at the Jungfraujoch, in Switzerland. It is, if I recall correctly, the Aletsch Glacier. I was there in the middle of April this year and I took that from the Sphinx terrace

In the upper right corner, I am hacking on Tickle Text, a text editor I wrote in tcl/tk, using the very same editor.
The lj client, multimedia player, and screenshot snapper/ftp client combo shown are all also my projects.
I've also written a free, open source translation project management tool, TransProCalc, not shown. ▲ Collapse

Tuliparola, I never saw this post!
It is a sad scene, but it's the only (good) large picture I'd found of Pixar's "Presto!" and Alec at the time... and since the short film is hilarious, it makes me giggle, knowing and remembering what comes after that scene
@ Claudia:
I love the sub!! (that's a Vista desktop, right?)
Here's my current desktop:

Just to clarify, I don't believe computers will ever replace US, human translators, but that doesn't mean that MT isn't useful.
Here I am, hacking up an MT tool in tcl/tk.

Nice ones and nice way to resume an old post. Here are mine.
The mountain photo was taken in Ritter valley (Renon) in Süd Tirol (Alto Adige) in July 08. The crest is Trieste's crest when it was in the Absurg's Empire... a nice way to celebrate the 150th aniversary of united Italy LOL! Well... after all it was still Austria here at that time... and up those mountains too for that matter.
