The cost of international bank transfers was recently standardised between all Member States of the European Union. I am in the UK and here, a bank transfer into my account from another EU Member State costs £1 (one pound) if the amount is under £100, or £10 for any amount over £100 (even if it's a million !)
Tom that's very interesting I didn't realise that. So if I understand the lack of logic here, I can send £101 and it will cost a £10 fee, or else in order to achieve precisely the same end result, send two payments, of £50 and £51 respectively, and the fee will be £2.
Obviously, changing the number "100" to "101" puts some extra strain on the computer system that merits a tenfold increase in prince... Anyway, whilst attempting to explain the rationale behind this system fails me, it's worth knowing... | | | guest1234 (X) Mauritius Local time: 03:59 French to English + ... Hi
I created an account with 2co, and paid the 49 USD.
After some hours they rejected my application without any details, closed my 2co account and notified me via automated email that I will be refunded of my 49 USD in a week (at least I will be refunded in that case!!)
What did I do wrong?
How did freelancers make a 2co account that's not rejected?

To be accepted on 2co,
Do you need to form a company? (I don't own one)
Do you need a website? (I don't have a website)
I don't want to sell physical products from a website, I just wanted to use the 2co account to be able to send Paypal links to my clients in their email. This way it would get in my 2co account then get to my bank account by wire transfer (IBAN, SWIFT).
I can try 2co again later, but for now I'd better ask my relatives in PayPal friendly countries to accept payments for me. ▲ Collapse | | |
Avinash, I am sorry to hear it didn't work for you.
You can contact their support for details.
I can only guess the reason is that you need your own website, even if you are not going to sell anything else except translation services.
Good luck! | |

Ok, I will make a website in my free time. I suppose I will have to buy a domain name.
Also I'll make screenshots of the full application process and send it to you or anyone who's interested so that you can advise me on how to complete these forms. Maybe you will see something that must be changed.

A little late into this discussion, but I would recommend you look into the Moneybookers alternative to PayPal ( www.moneybookers.com ). This may not work if there is a legal/financial restriction because of where you are, but it may be worth checking into.

As for bank transfer fees, I'm in Canada and pay CDN$15 for receiving an international deposit of any amount.
I recently paid CDN$13.50 for sending money to Europe.
There is no cost for transferring or receiving amounts under CDN$50.
This is with the Royal Bank of Canada; other banks may have different fees.
All my banking is done online (unless I need the cash).
In other words, I prefer receiving payments by bank transfer for amounts over $300 - cheaper than the other options.
HTH

When you sent money to Europe, did you do it via online banking?
Is it possible for you to send money to any country via online banking?
If someone gives you their IBAN, can you get money to their account?
If that's possible for 13 CAD, it's very good. I will check that bank's website.
Thanks Frank,

Here is an article from a freelance website that convinced me (as well as the many hours spent researching this on hundreds of websites):
"
I since see the client has actually published his website, including the artwork he claimed he wasn’t happy with and fraudulently claimed to his credit card company that he didn’t receive.
This should not have happened. I was only paid after I had worked diligently to ensure the client approved, then to come back 6 weeks later and initiate a charge back and win is something I’m still coming to terms with. I never knew this could even happen and if I had, I would never have accepted payment via credit card. I thought I was protected by using PayPal. Now I’m in the situation where he’s using the artwork created by me, which he hasn’t paid for and as he’s in a different country it adds a whole level of legal complexity and I’m not sure where to begin. I’ve contacted the Australian Copyright Council for advice and I’ll see what progresses out of that.
I’m sure that there are freelancers out there accepting payments via PayPal unaware that they are not covered and that this can absolutely happen to them if a client disputes a transaction.

Hi
It's been 14 days, and I still haven't been refunded by 2co.
They closed my account without giving me any chance to edit it, a few hours after I sent the 49 USD payment, 14 days ago.
Therefore, for me it was a bad experience.
In their satisfaction survey I wrote: extremely dissatisfied. The survey will probably be read by a snail only haha
I will just use IBAN and SWIFT to receive payments. | | | Pages in topic: < [1 2] | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » PayPal send only countries payment methods Anycount & Translation Office 3000 |
