Oh, how I would love to deserve that brighter future at $6/hr! (I understand perfectly well that you cannot aspire to $7/hr without fully convincing proof that you can speak English like Laurence Olivier and Spanish like Camilo José Cela). The problem is, I cannot lift 50-75lbs; I cannot even lift 1 lb. Oh, cruel gods! Expelled from the paradise of brighter future, merely because of my frail biceps!

Hace un tiempo atrás, una de las empresas de transporte de automotores y cargas pesadas de Argentina, solicitaba egresados universitarios para cargar automóviles en los camiones. Es decir, trasladar un coche dentro de la misma planta unos metros y subirlo a un camión.
Para eso, los postulantes debían ser Profesionales, Egresados Universitarios, con carnet de conducción profesional (en Argentina son los que te habilitan a conducir camiones y buses), etc. etc.

Mas vacaciones pagadas, seguro de vida, seguro de gastos médicos mayores, caja de ahorros, horas extra, etc.
¿Cuantos traductores autónomos pueden decir, con toda honestidad, que reciben por lo menos US$1,120 al mes, todos los meses?

Dyran... por ese dinero yo preferiría trabajar de cualquier otra cosa y en mi tiempo libre donar traducciones por ese monto a alguna organización de caridad. Aunque no tuviera trabajo de traductora, no aceptaría una oferta así. Sí, seguramente hay muchos traductores independientes que no ganan esa suma, pero no creo que haya traductores independientes que traduzcan 40 horas por semana y ganen eso. : )

In fact they expect to get takers, because there are takers. Whenever I see a ridiculous proposal in ProZ I always check out how many bids they\'ve received so far... and there are always answers. Since the bids are no longer public, I don\'t know what these bids say. Maybe all the people who answer are telling the askers to stuff their job... But then, maybe not. :|

No sé donde apareció ese anuncio, si fue aqui en Proz o no, pero creo que lo están leyendo mal. A mi me parece que están buscando trabajadores para hacer trabajo manual que sepan hablar inglés y español. Puede ser una compañía que trabaja mucho con Latinoamérica o que tiene muchos trabajadores hispanohablantes y quieren un \'go-between\'. Hicieron mal en poner BILINGUAL TRANSLATOR, porque seguro piensan que la persona que habla 2 idiomas automáticamente es traductor...
