Since many of us work with PayPal, this is the scam. DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT !

As of the 5th of November 2011, our security system has blocked unusual charges
to a credit card linked to your account.
An intrusion into your account has been detected which shows that someone
tried to access your PayPal account without your permission. we have limited
access to your account due to this problem. Moreover, we have sent you an attachment which
contains all the necessary steps in order to restore your account access. Please download and
open it in your browser.
Thanks for your high attention. Please do understand that this
is a security measure taken with intention to protect you and your account. We apologize for
any inconvenience.

If you are in doubt, go to your PayPal account through your normal channel.

Since PayPal normally doesn't send any attachments, I will look out for this scam and delete it immediately.

PayPal are very good about dealing with cases of phishing, if you haven't already done so, I strongly recommend you should report this via the dedicated link available on their home page.
For info, PayPal have a stated policy of only ever addressing you by the name they have registered for you; so if you ever get an e-mail addressed to "Dear PayPal user" etc., you can be sure it's a scam! | |

I have used PayPal extensively for some time now, and I am very satisfied with the service; I have never had any problems. I would suggest you check out other forum threads (or start one of your own) for other people's experiences, as otherwise we are going to drift off-topic here. | | |
