Hi CalumR san and all,
I'm positively thinking of attendance, but I won't probably be sure until the last moment whether or not I will be truly available on either July 26, Sat. or 27, Sun. because recently I tend to be involved with long-standing translation cases.
From the information so far, I guess it's going to be a lunch time event maybe somewhere around Tokyo districts.
BTW, about location, I would prefer the westward because of where I live...

Lunchtime is good. | Jul 8, 2008 |
Lunchtime works for me - I need about 2 hours to get to Tokyo by train, but I'm an early bird anyway, so even breakfast time would be fine

Hello all,
the place I was hoping to get, "Enjoy!House" in Ebisu, apparently opens at 3 pm... is this too late? If so, I can easily check out some other places, however, I've been to Enjoy!House before and it is really nice - http://www.bento.com/rev/2837.html - plus they can put on a buffet to suit everybody's taste and we can have the whole place to ourselves.

Kurt Hammond United States Local time: 21:35 Japanese to English I like the venue | Jul 8, 2008 |
I think 3pm (or even an hour or 2 later) is a decent time. Roll out of bed late, spend some time with the Prozians, and have a 2-ji-kai for those of us/you who are up to it. Still plenty of time to get home for those who aren't. That wasn't an option for the last Pow-wow, which finished at the awkwardly early hour of 4-5pm or so. I like the "kashikiri" thing too... We don't have to worry about "bothering our neighbors"

May attend depending on time | Jul 8, 2008 |
Unfortunately 3pm onwards is not good for me, I'm not around during the evening. 12pm is good though...

Hello everybody -
could you please let me know what you think about the proposed time of 3pm?

Not good for me I'm afraid, I have to be somewhere that evening....but if lots of people prefer 3pm then please go with that!

I have another engagement at 8:30 PM in Roppongi, so any time before that works on the 26th. A 3 or 4 PM start would be fine for me.

3 p.m., Jul 26, Sat. would be ok to me, as of today.
KathyT Australia Local time: 14:35 Japanese to English Any firm plans for scheduled presentations... | Jul 16, 2008 |
...or the like? Is there anyone in the Tokyo area that could give a talk on Wordfast? Perhaps OmegaT? (JC?)
Having considered the options and my schedule, I would very much like to attend this event as long as people don't mind me leaving so early, like 5pm! I hope I am not too late to join....
I'm okay with the proposed time, 3 PM is just fine!

Leaving early but coming at 3pm | Jul 18, 2008 |
I'll have to leave by 7pm, but 3pm is fine for me. I'll try and prepare an informal presentation for Wordfast, but I'm not what you'd call an expert.
Just to note that I have swiched from Wordfast to SDL Trados a few years back, so I would appreciate if anyone familir with the tool could do any kind of presentation if any other ones may be interested...
CAT tool presentation | Jul 20, 2008 |
I'd be interested in a presentation of any CAT tool - be it Trados, Wordfast, MemoQ or anything else, since I'm currently not using any, but I was thinking of buying one for some time now...
EDIT: For me, it wouldn't have to be a full-blown presentation, with slides and all that - just an informal demonstration and a honest opinion of someone who is using the software instead of selling it would be much more useful.
