Hi all,

I have been badgering a client for months to pay and on May 5th they sent a USD transfer via Wise (formerly TransferWise) from their bank in the British Virgin Islands to my Mexican bank account (in Mexican pesos). It should have arrived in my account on May 10. It still hasn't. The client sent me a copy of their receipt for the transfer which I took to the bank, but as the money has not arrived they couldn't do anything. Client says money has not been returned by Wise. All

I have been badgering a client for months to pay and on May 5th they sent a USD transfer via Wise (formerly TransferWise) from their bank in the British Virgin Islands to my Mexican bank account (in Mexican pesos). It should have arrived in my account on May 10. It still hasn't. The client sent me a copy of their receipt for the transfer which I took to the bank, but as the money has not arrived they couldn't do anything. Client says money has not been returned by Wise. All the account details are correct.

Anyone have a similar experience, maybe even with a happy ending?

Hey Tia,

Since their latest changes (now there are 2 USD accounts), in the ‘receiving USD’ information, I suddenly stopped being able to receive USD from Thailand. You might want to check if British Cayman Islands is also on the list.

It took the full period for this to arrive and then be sent back. The sending party will be given the details and it’ll bounce. It took over 2 weeks.

My payment was over USD 8k, so I lost a bit of sleep about this, but i

It took the full period for this to arrive and then be sent back. The sending party will be given the details and it’ll bounce. It took over 2 weeks.

My payment was over USD 8k, so I lost a bit of sleep about this, but it eventually returned to the client who had to then transfer it the old way to my bank account.

To help find information, ask for the payment receipt from the sender and you can try reach out to Wise with these details.
