Could I create (feed) a TM with bilingual files?
In Trados I can create a new TM from specifics files simply drag & dropping & cleaning this files.
So I can search into all my translations from all my clients to customize a new TM "à la carte" for a specific matter.
I don't speak about TMXs!!
Thank you! | | |
Yes, of course you can. I do that all the time.
Quite simply, create your project (if you haven't done it yet), create your on-the-fly memory (or use an adequate one you have created in the past), and then just grab the bilingual files to the Translations pane.
Once files are imported, simply open each file, select all segments (Edit > Select all segments or Ctrl+Shift+A), and confirm (Translation > Confirm). This adds all the segments to the current active memory. ... See more Yes, of course you can. I do that all the time.

If you have a ton of files and you don't want to open each of them, then create a View: in the Translations pane, select all files and choose Create view. Assign the view a name. The view will contain all segments from the selected files. Click the Views tab if you are not yet in it, open the view, and do as above (select all and confirm). This adds all the segments from all files to the current active memory.
I hope this helps! ▲ Collapse | | | T F F Italy Local time: 08:57 English to Italian Do as Tomas correctly said or...you just use Corpora! | Apr 1, 2011 |

At the end of the translation, you could also enrich this corpora with the files you have just translated...
TIP: why don't ask your client to send you the bilingual file once finalized by the client/reviwer, so that you will store the very final version of each segment for future reference!
