Hello,
I've recently downloaded the MemoQ 45 day trial. I don't have experience of CAt tools so wanted to try this out first. My question is: Is it possible to use this programme with non microsoft word documents. I use the open office software suite for wordprocessing. I have noticed that sometimes (not always) MemoQ doesn't always import the document and also there is never anything in the preview pane. Do I have to install Microsoft Word to use MemoQ? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Gul,

The latest version of MQ has the new filter for OpenOffice Writer - but I have never used it yet, so I couldn't comment/speak about it, just confirm it shuold be there...

As to MS Office files, MemoQ creates HTML preview of Office document so you can see them aslo if you don't have the software installed. Anyway you do need to have MS office Word installed if you want to use its spellechek feature, otherwise Hunspell (open source) option is available...

Hunspell dictionary for MemoQ Apr 1, 2011

Hi Gül,

There are 3 different Hunspell dictionaries that can be used with MemoQ. Check the Turkish forum as well http://www.proz.com/forum/turkish/156568-memoq_ve_hunspell.html
