This thread is part of the Translator playground: a place for translators to have fun, to network, to learn, and to hone their translation or linguistic skills. See the announcement here.

Need a quick break from work? In this forum translators and language professionals can share quotes about translation, tongue twisters and word plays, translation challenges, etc.

I've found this browsing the Internet and thought it would be a nice challenge for those working in Spanish into other languages.

Challenge: can the same meaning be conveyed by just changing the position of the comma?

1.- Una coma pueder ser una pausa - o no...
- "No, espere".
- "No espere".

2.- Puede crear héroes...
- "Eso solo, él lo resuelve".
- "Eso, solo él lo resuelve".

3.- Puede ser la solución:

- "Vamos a perde, poco se resolvió".
- "Vamos a perder poco, se resolvió".

4.- Cambia una opinión:

- "No queremos saber".
- "No, queremos saber".

5.- La coma puede condenar o salvar:

- "¡No tenga clemencia!"
- "¡No, tenga clemencia!"

You can also add some examples of similar cases in your native language.
