"When will I become a steak?" Jun 21, 2011

I still love that one: But it's an "old hat", as Germans call those old and dusty jokes.

Explanation: "bekommen" is indeed the exact morphological equivalent of "become". With the tiny difference that it means something... totally different. Feel free to click for the full joke.

Smoking Jun 21, 2011

Found that one in a proofreading job :

"Vous voulez arrêter de fumer ? Nous vous fournirons toute l'herbe dont vous avez besoin"

Guess we have to thank DNS for this aide/herbe confusion

(but it did crack me up for a while)

Two traps Jun 21, 2011

Two traps that I can think of are "This is a goof result" (instead of "good result") and "The goods have not arrived" (instead of "now arrived"). The "goof" one is particularly dangerous as the F and the D are just too close. Another one I spotted (fortunately) in my work the other day was "pubic company" for "public company".
