This thread is part of the Translator playground: a place for translators to have fun, to network, to learn, and to hone their translation or linguistic skills. See the announcement here.

Need a quick break from work? In this forum translators and language professionals can share quotes about translation, tongue twisters and word plays, translation challenges, etc.

All are welcome to participate and to add new items to this and the other areas of the Translator playground; have fun with it! If you need help or would like to propose an addition to the Translator playground, contact site staff through the online support system.

I'd like to share this video with you for some Friday fun!

Have a nice weekend!

Can you please write the forum in Spanish? Jun 10, 2011

I just can't read English! I also wish I had paid more attention in school!

At least they speak English (and German too) Jun 11, 2011

The one here doesn't.

Or maybe an elderly, edentulous ticket seller at the Princeton, NJ train station who had to ask me four times "Nook aw Nawk?" until I understood he wanted to know if I wanted a ticket to Newark or New York....

loved it except for the end Jun 11, 2011

I really liked it, lovely. But then they put the stupid last ending going back to reality. It was the absurd dialog that made it so funny and original. There are much better ways to end it. She could have just walked away, still maintaining the absurd logic, without any more words from the guys. Or they could have quipped something equally absurd between themselves after she left.
