XLIFF version 2.1 not working in DeepL Pro

Hi there!

I got an XLIFF document from the PM and I have to translate it with DeepL. But when I upload it, DeepL shows: This file couldn’t be translated due to a technical issue. (invalid_or_missing_file_data)

Just for you to have an idea of what my document looks like:

xliff version="2.1" xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:xliff:document:2.1"
srcLang="es-ES" trgLang="de-DE"

DeepL works with XLIFF 2.1 May 9

The only version of XLIFF supported by DeepL is 2.1.

If you have problems uploading XLIFF 2.1 using DeepL REST API, then you may have the wrong type of plan. Note that you need a REST API key, not a key for CAT tools.

I have a DeepL Pro account, and I’m trying to translate an XLIFF 2.1 file using the drag-and-drop feature on your website. However, every time I upload the file, I receive the following error:

"This file could not be translated due to a technical issue. (invalid_or_missing_file_data)"

...or any other low-cost or free trial CAT and apply pre-translating with the integrated DeepL AI. Should work.

Well, how did you get your file?
Some minor things like read-only, or something similar could pop an error.
I'm not very familiar with XLIFF syntax, maybe the file is missing some angle brackets for the tags... I don't know.
That's why you need to open in another CAT program so you can conclude where the error is, in your first CAT program or in the file.
