I recently registered with a translation company online and they sent me a nondisclosure/confidentiality agreement to sign and return.
I don\'t mind signing it and I understand these days confidentiality is quite important in the translation/interpreting business but I wonder whether this is a standard procedure.
I would like to know what you think about this.

Hi,
It is standard for some agencies to ask freelancers to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Erika

I just realised there are many questions at proz about this topic.
Thanks again.

Welcome, Simona, and yes,

I would say this is a fairly standard practise.
I often outsource projects myself to (mainly)ProZ members and after a few rather nasty experiences, I decided to work only with people who signed my Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Of course, I understand it is a necessary safety measure (unfortunately you never know these days!).
Thanks.
