From my point of view, “miscellaneous (provisions) is better than “diverse set” because the people who are not familiar with the concept of “el diverso/la diversa” used by Mexican officials and dealers, they couldn’t understand of the meaning “diverse set”. I saw in Internet that other people ask about the meaning of “el diverso/la diversa” as nouns.

The Real Academia Española only says:
diverso, sa. (Del lat. diversus, part. pas. de divertĕre). 1. adj. De distinta naturaleza, especie, número, forma, etc. 2. adj. desemejante. 3. adj. pl. Varios, muchos.

This implies that the use of “diverso” as a noun is not general for all the Spanish speakers.

But everybody understand the meaning of “miscellaneous” (or “miscellaneous provisions”).
