Hi Jerzy!
Please could you write here all details of this training?
I mean when and where do we start on sunday; what we need to bring; is there a lunch included in price or not?...
Thank you very much!
Kind regards,

We shall start at 9 am.

The session shall be divided in three blocks. Th first block with some basics on TM settings, maybe analysis if you want, dealing with most important commands, setting up projects, translating easy documents with no problems.
The second part will deal with problems with Word, then we shall translate documents with Tageditor - Word, Excel, PowerPoint. We shall also speak about the preparation of the files.

Two mor questions, please | Oct 18, 2006 |
Thank you very much, Jerzy! You were very quick with your answer!
But I still two questions: does it take place at the same hotel as the conference?
And roughly when is it going to end?
Thank you very much!

Jerzy Czopik Germany Local time: 19:04 Member (2003) Polish to German + ... Preliminary time schedule | Oct 18, 2006 |
Start at 9 am.
First part (Basics)
9 am until 11 am
Coffe break until 11:30 am
Second part (Advanced)
11:30 am until 2 pm
Lunch break until 3 pm
Third part (DTP, Q&A)
Starting 3 pm with open end.
Maybe a tea break for a typical english cup o tea at 4:30 pm?
Or we extend the lunch until 3:30 pm.
This is not a fixed schedule, but the starting time should not be changed anymore.

Sorry for being a pain, Jerzy, but I have a plane to catch, so the less time is spent on breaks, the better!
Jerzy Czopik Germany Local time: 19:04 Member (2003) Polish to German + ... The same hotel | Oct 18, 2006 |
We have a room in the same hotel, where the Conference is beeing held.
As you can see from the time schedule, I plan an open edn, but I do not expect us to come to an end later than 7 pm.
I´m still not very sure, if we will need 2 hours for the basics, so maybe I will shorten the first part to only 1 hour. This would mean the coffe break and the lunch one hour earlier. I shall keep you posted.
Jerzy Czopik Germany Local time: 19:04 Member (2003) Polish to German + ... Breaks are already kept short | Oct 18, 2006 |
When does your plane leave?
19.30 from Edinburgh Airport - I think you'd originally said the workshop would finish sooner than 7, so I went ahead and booked my non-changeable flight... Shame as it means I'll have to miss part of a training I badly need!

Jerzy Czopik Germany Local time: 19:04 Member (2003) Polish to German + ... That´s why we shall start already at 9 am | Oct 18, 2006 |
Imagine, 7 pm are 10 hours! This is I think the absolute end of our learning capacity for one day. And this is an open end option. I do not want to make a clear cut at 5 pm, but it is possible. This would mean 6 hours training. After all I think there will be a lot of questions, and if we start to playing Q&A rounds in between, your problem will be bigger. So what I think you will possibly miss are some questions and answers after 5 pm.
As per my opinion... | Oct 18, 2006 |
...these breaks are very important, as we really need time off: I don't think anybody is being able to learn, and learn and leanr for hours and hours with no breaks!!
Thank you for all your comments, Jerzy!

Hi!
And if you leave in London, why don't you stay until the end and take the train back??? (If you need it so badly, as you say...?)

Jerzy Czopik Germany Local time: 19:04 Member (2003) Polish to German + ... Please don´t panic :-) | Oct 18, 2006 |
Look at this modified time schedule:
Break times:
10:30-11:00: coffee break
1:00-2:00: lunch in the restaurant between
4:00-4:30: coffee break
We shorten the Basics to 1,5 hrs and still keep the end open
Panic? Panic? Who panics???? ;o)) | Oct 18, 2006 |
... so now it seems like the three blocks are going to be shorter -all of them!!! What a pity!!!! ((( (As there are no so many and good trainings for Trados...!)
I stay overnight in Edinburgh - No planes to catch for me at the day.
Regards,
Helena | | |
@Horizons: Sorry not... | Oct 18, 2006 |
...leave but live!
If I would need a training that hard, I would not hesitate to take the train back ("The last train to London" -was a very nice song at the 80's! By E.L.O.) ;o))
