: Electrical engineering can be the name of a single course as well as the name of a degree program. For example I took EE levels I and II as an undergrad.

Many of my text-books included 'electrotechnology' (with or without a hyhen) in their titles. As did the title of the journal of the professional association I used to belong to.
In the UK at least, electrotechnology is not the same as electrical engineering, at least in academic circles.

my question here is that in the context posted, "eletrotecnica" is the name of one course subject only - it's not the professional title (engineer, technician, whatever), nor the dept, nor the degree.
So, yes, "elect technician" wouldn't be good.
but I wondered if there is a single course called "elect engineering" - I always understood that as the whole program, like you have civil engineering, mechanical, etc.
the entry said, "it is a list of courses for a university degree." - not "it's a university degree."
Is my question clear now?
