Yes, reviewer makes more sense than monitor, since it sounds more "human" than inanimate, but I think I might go with "advisor", though.

advisor (of some sort!)

Just an idea - could this be an advisor for the hospital/clinic? Someone who is referred to on matters of hospital management, such as whether the products conform to set standards.

An immediate relative in the pharmaceutical industry performs the same services, and confirmed the title for the resource person is the clinical monitor.

A clinical monitor reviews drug performance and interaction case studies, physician recommendations on dosage admnistration and adjustments and reports them back to the manufacturer for further study or improvement. So, in this case, I can\'t agree with Amy\'s suggestion of the term advisor.
